Plaster negative moulds from Königliche Porzellanmanufaktur (KPM) serve as the basis for sculptural investigations at the intersection of architecture and visual art.
The work complex establishes a clear relationship to the human scale through the proportions of its structures and draws analogies to ancient columns. In a layered process of positive and negative casting, the geometric assembly of vase elements gives rise to an architecture reminiscent of the classical Greek orders.
Positive and negative, void and volume, convex and concave, stacking and sequencing, scale and proportion — these are principles that find intense application as the white vase halves are transformed into a poetic organization of space. Methods and modes of thinking that are characteristic of architecture are reflected in the spatial reach of the installation.
